Loading and Unloading with a Single Robotic Arm
Traditional loading requires material to be placed against gauging blocks during the loading process. Now using light technology, simply use a pallet jack or forklift to place the skid on the floor directly from the shear, punch, or laser.

A red laser dot appears on the floor when the load door is opened. The perator positions the skid so the dot is visible upon the sheet metal. The robot then uses the sensing head to pinpoint the material using the red laser dot as the origin point for its search routine.

Stacking a formed part can be one of the most challenging aspects of automating a press brake. The ability to teach the robot how to stack parts instead of performing canned routines makes this system adaptable.

Accurate, Consistent Parts
To aid in setup, the robot communicates with the operator as a to tool, brake and suction cups placement on the reposition stand with the use of a laser light. With Wila tooling and hydraulic clamping, repeat setups can be had in as fast as 15 minutes.

The side stop is a sensor that mounts to the die bed and finds the edge of the part. Using this information the robot can accurately position the part for fitted punch and die bends. This is also used for tapered bends. The robot can learn where the part is on the gripper and adjust the program automatically.

Gauging fingers are added to the brake to give feedback to the robot for part position. Using the fingers, the robot will square up the part to the back gauge and position the part to achieve +/-.004 tolerance.

The robot moves the part into position without putting stress on the back gauge. The robot can follow the part to eliminate back bend. The dual arm system can be loading and unloading while forming a part.
